Driven Pheasant Shooting Parties

Welcoming

A typical pheasant shooting party offers between four to six days of sport. On arrival at the carefully selected hotel, each gun receives a briefing pack containing all permits, licenses and documents covering insurance and legal requirements together with a synopsis on each of the estates over which shooting will be taking place. Also included will be a detailed itinerary of the week’s events.

Guns gather at a champagne reception hosted at the hotel by Tony Ross. If wives and partners are joining the guns, Tony & Jane will organise a separate itinerary for their week. A minibus and driver is provided to take them on their excursions. Most weeks include at least one non shooting day when everyone is able to spend their time at leisure and perhaps do some sightseeing.

On each shoot day, guns are accompanied to the shoot by Tony or one of his associates to ensure that everything runs smoothly throughout the day. A very experienced game and competitive clay shot, Tony is always on hand during the drives to help, if requested, the less experienced sportsman make the most of their day. Many very experienced & competent guns who have not shot driven game before often find such advice makes a big difference to the number of birds they shoot. Knowing what to expect and when to take a bird makes for maximum enjoyment and success.

A Momemto

We take photographs throughout the week to provide our guests with a photographic memento of their trip. Whenever practicable we arrange end of day group photographs of the guns with the total bag of birds..

Jane Ross and her team will usually provide lunch for the guns on the estate. As a finale on the last day the shoot is planned so that wives and partners join the guns for the last two drives and then a late lunch at around 4pm is provided for the whole party at the estate..

Although we mainly arrange shooting weeks for pre-formed groups however, we do occasionally have individual places available and are more than pleased to discuss with individual guns their requirements.
